Smart learning is a broad concept for education. It represents how advanced technologies help learners to more easily, efficiently, and conveniently ingest information and skills. Smart education, a term used in the digital era to characterize learning, has increased interest of many researchers. The aim of intelligent education is to enable intelligent learners in the 21st Century to meet the needs of work and life.

The growing integration of smart solutions in the education sector is a major factor that drives the smart learning & education market. Smart learning & education market provides the best path for higher education, as it ensures the brightest future. With the help of non-traditional approaches, it was witnessed that the number of higher education institutions are already reaching out to more learners; this trend will gain more traction in the upcoming years.

Smart Learning & Education Market: Dynamics

The growing adoption of various technologies such as cloud computing and AI, along with Internet penetration in the education sector drives the demand for smart learning & education. However, the smart learning & education market faces challenges due to uncertainty of educational policies across countries. Slow Internet connection and poor connectivity in rural areas negatively impact the growth of the market. It has been observed that smart learning is only accessible on smartphones or computers. Thus, students living in rural areas face challenges to learn from smart learning. For instance, according to a survey, more than 47 percent of students still live in rural areas. Students face challenges to learn from smart learning techniques due to poor network connectivity.

However, the smart learning & education market provides several benefits to learners, which include improved teaching or learning experiences, learning accessibility, access to online data and tools, and viability of using and exchanging knowledge. This is likely to drive the smart learning & education market in the near future.

Smart Learning & Education Market: Prominent Regions

The smart learning & education market in North America is expected to account for the largest share during the forecast period, due to rising digitalization in the educational sector and presence of major market players in the region. In addition, the U.S. Government has increased investment in the educational sector, which is fuelling the growth of the smart learning & education market.

The smart learning & education market in Asia Pacific is likely to expand at the highest CAGR during the forecast period, due to adoption of smartphones in developing economies, which has increased enrolment of students in online learning platforms. This factor will further fuel the growth of the smart learning & education market in the region. The Europe market is projected to rise at a notable CAGR during the forecast period, owing to rising government support toward the transformation of traditional learning to advanced learning in the region, which leads to growth of the smart learning & education market.

How To Bulletproof Your Career!

Are you struggling with today’s challenging employment trends? Learn the most important activities you should always be doing to overcome the challenges of today’s career market, and bulletproof your career for the future.

In the not-too-distant past, ascending the corporate ladder assured management professionals of a bigger office, a stronger compensation package and a more secure future. But today, executives are being told: Don’t get too comfortable in that corner office, and don’t buy that fancy new car or boat you’ve always dreamed of – because your job is just as vulnerable as everyone else’s. Evidence suggests that the higher up the ladder you go, the more precarious your position may become! The attitude toward executives and the roles they play within companies have drastically changed in recent years. I’ve seen executives who have been with the same company for 20 or more years. They’ve worked their way up the corporate ladder and felt that they had proven their value – then they were unceremoniously dismissed from their positions as if they had just been hired as an entry-level worker. As a Career Consultant, it’s my job to re-instill the client’s confidence, identify his or her strengths, and “re-package” that individual for the current job market. But, to navigate effectively through the career transition process and ultimately make your career bulletproof, you must first be informed about what’s really going on in the work-world. I see several important trends taking place with regard to executive-level job stability and security, including:

TODAY’S CHALLENGING EMPLOYMENT TRENDS

Job Market Trend 1:

More and more positions, even at senior levels, are now being offered on a contract or temporary basis. The position, in these cases, lasts only as long as is needed to fulfill the employer’s contract with their client. This requires job seekers to think differently – more like an independent consultant who works on assignment – rather than as a permanent employee. In many business sectors and industries, it could be said that the “permanent, full-time job” no longer exists as we knew it. This trend also puts the responsibility on the part of the executive to consistently promote and market himself or herself for the next opportunity – and the one after that!

Job Market Trend 2:

Companies are still very cautious and careful about making any hiring decisions of high-paying, senior management positions. Executives seeking such jobs must now “sell themselves” more than in the past. They need to demonstrate just how they will enhance the company’s productivity, efficiency and profitability – or they probably won’t get the offer. This means that the job seeker really needs to learn how to effectively present and market himself or herself. Just having the right job titles on one’s résumé, or having the appropriate technical skills for the job, are no longer enough.

Job Market Trend 3:

Executives are receiving smaller career transition programs than ever before from the large outplacement firms – and many displaced professionals are getting no career transition programs at all. This means that greater numbers of executives are seeking-out help from smaller, more personal career consulting firms and career support groups.

STRATEGIES TO BULLETPROOF YOUR CAREER

Although the transition programs mentioned above do offer important career management techniques, let me share with you the most important activities you should always be doing to overcome the challenges outlined above, and bulletproof your career for the future:

1. Keep all your success documents up to date
2. Put time aside every week for active networking
3. Join and take leadership roles in appropriate associations
4. Write articles or do presentations in your area of expertise
5. Continue your career education, including new credentials
6. Research and be aware of the competition
7. Offer to help people in your network on a regular basis
8. Look at new jobs and investigate other opportunities
9. Always ask yourself, “How can I contribute more?”
10. Practice your networking, interviewing and negotiating skills

If you want your career to be truly bulletproof, you’ll need to educate yourself on topics you probably thought you’d never have to worry about again – like self-marketing, networking, interviewing and negotiating. To master these skills, many management professionals are also discovering helpful online resources and free audio seminars.

And here’s the GOOD NEWS: If you seek-out the right support and leverage vital resources like those mentioned above, you may actually be thankful for the experience of going through transition – ultimately finding a career or landing a job that will be a much better “fit” than those you’ve previously had.

E-Learning Development: Exploring Different Pricing Strategies

The rapid growth of e-learning has revolutionized education, offering flexible, accessible, and personalized learning experiences. As organizations and educational institutions increasingly invest in e-learning, understanding the different pricing models for e-learning development becomes crucial. This article delves into various pricing strategies, highlighting their advantages, limitations, and suitability for different needs.

1. Fixed Price ModelOverview
The fixed price model involves setting a predetermined cost for the entire e-learning project. This model is typically based on a detailed project scope defined at the outset, covering all aspects such as content creation, multimedia integration, interactivity, and assessments.

Advantages
Budget Clarity: Organizations know the total cost upfront, aiding in precise budget planning.
Predictability: With a fixed price, there are no surprises in terms of expenses, making financial management easier.
Clear Deliverables: The scope and deliverables are well-defined, ensuring both parties have a clear understanding of expectations.
Limitations
Inflexibility: Changes in project scope or unexpected challenges can lead to additional costs or delays.
Risk of Overpricing: To cover potential risks, vendors may set higher prices, which could result in overpaying for the project.
Suitability
The fixed price model is best suited for projects with well-defined requirements and a clear scope, where the likelihood of significant changes is minimal.

2. Time and Materials ModelOverview
In the time and materials model, the cost is based on the actual time spent and resources used during the development process. Clients are billed for the hours worked and the materials utilized.

Advantages
Flexibility: This model accommodates changes in scope and requirements, allowing for iterative development.
Transparency: Clients have visibility into the development process and can track progress and expenditures.
Cost Efficiency: Clients only pay for the actual work done, which can be more economical if the project scope changes.
Limitations
Budget Uncertainty: The total cost can be difficult to predict, posing a risk of budget overruns.
Management Overhead: Continuous monitoring and involvement from the client are required to manage time and costs effectively.
Suitability
This model is ideal for projects with evolving requirements or where an agile development approach is preferred. It is also suitable for clients who want to maintain close oversight of the development process.

3. Subscription-Based ModelOverview
A subscription-based model involves paying a recurring fee, typically monthly or annually, for access to e-learning content or platforms. This model is common for learning management systems (LMS) and content libraries.

Advantages
Predictable Costs: Regular subscription fees make financial planning straightforward.
Continuous Updates: Clients receive ongoing updates and improvements without additional costs.
Scalability: Easy to scale up or down based on the number of users or courses required.
Limitations
Long-term Commitment: The cumulative cost over time can be substantial, especially for long-term use.
Dependency on Provider: Clients rely on the provider for maintenance and updates, which can be a risk if the provider’s service quality declines.
Suitability
Subscription-based models are ideal for organizations that need continuous access to a wide range of courses or an LMS platform, particularly when ongoing updates and support are critical.

4. Per Learner PricingOverview
Per learner pricing charges based on the number of users accessing the e-learning content. Fees may be a one-time charge per user or a recurring fee per user per month.

Advantages
Scalable Costs: Costs align with the number of users, making it scalable for growing or fluctuating learner bases.
Predictability: Organizations can predict expenses based on the number of learners, aiding in budget management.
Limitations
Cost Fluctuations: Changes in the number of learners can lead to variable costs, complicating long-term budgeting.
Potential for High Costs: For large organizations or courses with high enrollment, costs can escalate quickly.
Suitability
This model is suitable for organizations that can accurately predict learner numbers and prefer costs tied directly to usage. It’s also beneficial for educational institutions with varying enrollment numbers.

5. Performance-Based PricingOverview
In performance-based pricing, costs are tied to the outcomes or performance metrics of the e-learning program. Metrics may include learner engagement, completion rates, or assessment scores.

Advantages
Aligned Incentives: Vendors are motivated to deliver high-quality, effective content since their payment depends on performance.
Risk Mitigation: Clients pay based on results, reducing the risk of investing in ineffective e-learning solutions.
Limitations
Measurement Challenges: Defining and measuring performance metrics can be complex and may not capture all aspects of e-learning effectiveness.
Vendor Reluctance: Some vendors may be hesitant to adopt this model due to the uncertainty of payment.
Suitability
Performance-based pricing is suitable for organizations focused on specific learning outcomes and willing to invest in a results-driven approach. It is particularly useful for skill-based training programs where measurable improvements are essential.

Conclusion
Choosing the right pricing model for e-learning development depends on various factors, including project scope, budget flexibility, and desired outcomes. Fixed price models offer clarity and predictability, while time and materials models provide flexibility. Subscription-based and per learner pricing models are scalable, catering to different organizational needs, whereas performance-based pricing aligns costs with tangible results. By understanding these models, organizations can make informed decisions that align with their goals and resources, ensuring effective and efficient e-learning development.

The Neglected Backbone

Students have been facing incredible loss of identity and stress when they are forced to learn a foreign language.

Pakistan has been described by scholars and professionals as an Islamic ideological state. However, the story of education here is a nightmare. The data on the Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training Pakistan speaks for itself: almost 40% of children are out of school. It is believed that youth fuels modernization and economic growth of the country. We have failed to amalgamate youngsters into the education system. In consequences, they ended up choosing labor market which in turn created multiple adverse impacts such as inequality, unemployment, population growth and discrimination. It is shockingly unbelievable that Pakistan recently stands with the second highest number of out of the school children, according to UNICEF. For the roughly 22 million children not attending school, 11 million not achieving formal education as well as attendance averages 60%. Sindh and Balochistan signify the worst scenario. Gender comparison display boys higher number than girls at every stage of education. Pakistan literacy rates hang at 60%, increased by 2% from 2014 and horrifically missing Global Goals of 88%. Literacy consistently lags behind: 50% of class 5 students cannot read a simple Urdu story meant for class 1 or 2. A worrisome list of other catastrophic concerns on education level and quality, corruption, infrastructure and more has been left out for the purposes of minimizing reader hopelessness. However, problems abound; desultory analysis reveals prospective and potential for simple outcomes.

Understanding System of Education

Pakistan follows predominantly two systems of education: traditional religion based education system and modern formal education system. After independence in 1947, Pakistan had adopted a Macaulay education system as well, that is also called modern education. It comprises six groups: preschool, primary, middle, high, intermediate and bachelor. Individuals have to complete all groups according to their ages respectively. Moreover, English was considered to be an educational language and main mode of communication in schools. However, Arabic is considered to be an educational language in the traditional system. Traditional education system comprises three main categories: reading of the Holy Quran, memorization of the Holy Quran, and techniques for the recitation of the Holy Quran. The exams include Arabic language and literature, and Islamic laws. The schools are called madrassahs and students are being called fazils after graduation. It does not include secular subjects such as mathematics, science and social studies. Modern education system includes oppositely Arabic language courses.

Problems of Education

Education creates a sense of responsibility amid individuals. The reasons behind the educational problems are lack of tolerance and awareness. The lowest budget has been spent on the system of education since decades which has weakened the foundation of the quality of the system. Hence, it has failed to raise the nation as socially, economically and politically. Numerous problems have been faced such as gender discrimination, untrained teachers, language barriers, and so forth. Educational policies change with political situations which mark an adverse impact on individuals. The great philosopher Iqbal wanted Pakistan’s education system to be based on uniformity. Different systems are working over here simultaneously as well as the curriculum is not uniformed. Nations develop their generation on the basis of vigorous training and education on social, economic and politics. The weak and directionless education system of Pakistan has not been able to guide its people on social grounds. Furthermore, it lacks cohesion that promotes a situation of deprivation among masses. And, this is the reason for cultural and political unrest in the communities.

Putting too much in one’s plate

Students have been facing incredible loss of identity and stress when they are forced to learn a foreign language. English has become an educational language. They struggle massively with English because every subject is taught in it. On the other hand, Urdu is the national language which has been taught in schools and is being spoken by nationals. More than 30 languages are spoken by people over here. Hence, a lot of nationals cannot communicate in Urdu or English. In consequence, they ended up learning languages rather than getting knowledge which creates communication gaps among people. It creates mental health problems as well. Additionally, the schools and universities have created an environment in which the students are at a great disadvantage from the first day, and that leads to the individuals leaving the schooling system.

Ways forward towards solutions

The quality of education is a huge concern in Pakistan. Extensive educational reforms are required to enhance the system; otherwise it would be completely the wastage. Private institutions should collaborate with government sectors to improve public schools, and provide quality context to students. Moreover, centralized training initiatives will be basically impossible but decentralized models must be considered. Along with, secondary and higher secondary schools are retaining students through matriculation and inter, however access is low. The quantity of students should be increased. In case, reforms might be impossible to introduce to the public. On the other hand, officials should make a serious strategy for education at the very initial level. Training should be kept mandatory for teachers. Education must be kept under the supervision of the government. In addition, career counseling should be compulsory for every student. Without education, the socio-economic issues cannot be resolved, and oppositely it gives a boost to morale as well as builds perseverance. Government should increase educational budget, promote primary education, subjects should be taught in the national language not in foreign language, and technical education must be provided to all the classes. Religious education should be taught with a secular education system. On the other hand, mathematics and science should be taught in traditional educational departments.

Midlife Career Change the Parallel Career Way

To many…thoughts of a midlife career change begin to loom constantly in their mind when they’re at or around the age of forty. ‘Something’ happens when they are at this half-way point in their life.

mediaimage
What about you? Have you arrived at this stage in your life when you ‘feel’ a midlife career change is due. You’re on a mental and emotional transition not experienced since adolescence. Your career ambitions, attitudes and interests change. The way you look at life and at people change. Your values change. The strong fires of ambition that you had when you were in your twenties and thirties are now cooled. You now think more about the purpose of life, your health and other mortality issues.

How Do You Want to Spend the Rest of Your Working Life?

If you’ve never thought about this question…it’s time you do because your answer may be the most important one for the rest of your life.

Do not wait for the following to happen before starting a parallel career:

·You are in a job that is so routine that your work days are simply boring.
·You are not utilizing your talents often in your job.
·You’re not fully satisfied after completing a project or task.
·You feel drained and exhausted by the time you reach home.
·You have lost interest in your job.
·You may lose your job soon.

Your decision to have a midlife career change and the right choice of parallel career can make the rest of your working life a happy, fulfilling and enjoyable one.

Midlife Career Change…Often a Difficult Decision

The decision to change career at midlife is often a difficult one. Often any or some of the following can stop you from making this decision:

*Unwillingness to break-free from your comfort zone. (Afterall you have a ‘steady’ job paying you a decent income month after month; why bother with a midlife career change?)

*Don’t have a clue of what to do? (If only you start taking stock of your Assets and Skillset, Passion, Talent and Mission)

* Don’t know how to go about it. (You’ll find answers here at ParallelCareer.com)

*Unsupportive spouse (Have a heart-to-heart talk with your spouse on your cares, concerns and aspirations. Emphasize that your future is his/her future. Your success is his/her success)

*Family commitments that drain every ounce of energy and time you have left to start a parallel career (Re-prioritize your life and discuss with your family on your midlife career change plans)

“It’s never too late to be what you might have been” – George Eliot

More Options Than You Think

If you’ve reached midlife, it’s NOT unusual that you would have changed at least two to six jobs. You would have accumulated a wealth of experience, acquired many skills and made quite a lot of contacts. Your age gives you a degree of credibility especially when you speak on a topic you’re good at.

All these mean that you’ve more options than you think…if you decide to consider a midlife career change. With the Parallel Career Way, this career change is less stressful and less risky because you still have a job. Do not wait until it’s too late…until you’ve lost or quit your job. Decide to start a parallel career.

How to Turn a Job Search into a Career Find

Ever watch a hamster running mindlessly on a wheel and think “Yeah that about sums up my job search?” There is a better way to uncover a great career with more intensity of purpose. You need a focal point. You must have a game plan and a destination for your initiatives or like the hamster you’ll be pointlessly running in circles.

mediaimage
The only way to find a new career is to stop looking for a job

Career success requires the identical effort and targeting as setting a course for continuous professional development.

Job opportunities are found through the strategic use of the same steering mechanism that successfully sells products and services: Positioning, Exposure and Marketing.

Seek employers needing solutions to their problems

Change your career search strategy from hastily blasting resumes extolling your attributes to more thoughtfully approaching an employer with the idea of helping him or her solve a problem or achieve a goal. By doing so, you’ll leverage your competitive advantage. You’ll then always invest your energies where you can obtain the highest return of time and energy because your initiatives will have a target or an “intensity of purpose.”

Hot career tip: Deliberately design your career management campaign for success.

There are nine angles to engineer a successful marketing strategy in a competitive hunt and each brings focus and clarity. These benchmarks more effectively drive a career transition because they concentrate on identifying problems, differentiating solutions and maximizing exposure to career resources.

Positioning

Position yourself as a consultant rather than a salesperson regardless of your field. Do this first in your own mind and then in the mind of your “customer,” the targeted employer.
Be a Problem Detective. Approach each employer with the idea of helping him or her solve a problem or achieve a goal. Describe what you can do, not who you are.
Analyze the benefits you will provide an employer from the employer’s point of view then define the nature of your contribution as it relates to his or her need.
Exposure

Keep your “sales” pipeline full by continually prospecting for targeted employers. Always have more people to see than you have time to seem them, but put off calling on low-value, low-probability prospects.
Maximize your exposure-to-opportunity by using multiple strategies simultaneously. Increase your likelihood of career success by increasing the number of your activities.
Look upon your career marketing territory as a farmer looks upon a rich piece of land; like an area to be harvested, week after week.
Marketing

Don’t lose sight of your primary goal: to sell your skills as a specific personalized solution to an identified employer need.
Think of yourself as a resource to yourself and to prospective employers. Products are sold by quantifying the net dollar benefit to your customer of using your talents.
Differentiate what you offer. Define its distinctiveness and bring the entire decision to hire you to hang on this key benefit.
Finding a great career position is no accident

A career move must be deliberate and strategic. You must master proven product sales techniques meshed with relentless subterranean market research and analysis to find your best career.

Your success in turning a job search into a career find will be in direct proportion to what you do after you do what you are expected to do. Be absolutely clear about what you want, why you want it, when you want it and what you are willing to do to get it.

Let your “inner hamster” escape off the mindless track of a career pursuit without purpose. Regain control of your job search. Grab the key out of the cage you’ve put yourself in by using the distinct marketing concepts of Positioning, Exposure and Marketing.

Unveiling the True Value of a Career: Beyond the Paycheck

Choosing a career is a pivotal decision that can shape your life’s trajectory. It’s not just about the paycheck at the end of the month; it’s about finding fulfillment, balance, and growth. Whether you’re stepping into the workforce for the first time or contemplating a career shift, understanding what you truly gain from your career choice is crucial. This exploration goes beyond the surface, delving into personal satisfaction, work-life balance, and long-term well-being.

Key Considerations in Choosing a Career
Financial Rewards vs. Personal Well-being
While a good salary can ensure financial security, it’s not the sole factor to consider. According to a survey by the American Psychological Association, more than 60% of U.S. adults cite money as a significant stress factor, which can overshadow the benefits of a high income. Thus, it’s essential to weigh the financial benefits against potential stressors such as long hours and job-related stress, which the World Health Organization has recently recognized as a significant workplace hazard.

Job Satisfaction and Engagement
A fulfilling career should align with your interests and values. Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace report reveals that only 15% of employees worldwide are engaged in their jobs, suggesting that most workers do not find their work meaningful. Engaging work that aligns with personal values not only boosts job satisfaction but can also enhance productivity and mental health.

Work-Life Balance
The quest for a balanced life is more prominent than ever. A study by Harvard Business Review highlighted that 94% of working professionals reported working more than 50 hours per week, with nearly half working more than 65 hours. This imbalance can lead to burnout and health issues, making it essential to consider flexible working conditions and hours when choosing a career.

Career Development and Growth
Opportunities for professional growth are vital for long-term career satisfaction. A LinkedIn report found that 94% of employees would stay at a company longer if it invested in their career development. Thus, a career that offers continuous learning and advancement opportunities can be more rewarding and motivating.

Steps to Identifying the Right Career for You
Self-Assessment: Identify your skills, interests, and values. Consider what environments you thrive in and the type of work that keeps you motivated.
Research: Explore industries and roles that align with your assessment. Utilize resources like the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to understand industry trends and job outlooks.
Networking: Engage with professionals in your fields of interest to gain insights and advice. Platforms like LinkedIn can be invaluable for connecting with industry leaders.
Education and Skills Development: Depending on your career choice, additional training or education might be necessary. Look into certifications, workshops, or degrees that can enhance your employability.
Work Experience: Internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer work can provide practical experience and improve your understanding of a particular career.
Making an Informed Decision
Choosing the right career is a multifaceted process that involves introspection, research, and planning. It’s important to consider not only the immediate benefits, such as salary, but also long-term factors like personal growth, job satisfaction, and quality of life. By taking a holistic approach to this decision, you can select a career path that not only meets your financial needs but also contributes to your overall happiness and fulfillment.

For more detailed insights on career planning and development, visit U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and American Psychological Association.

Remember, a well-chosen career can enrich your life beyond the workplace, providing a source of fulfillment, stability, and purpose. Take the time to make a choice that aligns with your personal and professional goals, and be prepared to adapt as your aspirations and the job market evolve.

Five Factors Why Your Business Should Spend Money On Leadership Training

Why should companies invest in leadership training if their main objective is to produce income? The answer is easy. Businesses should invest in training leaders and aspiring leaders since their main goal is to generate profit. Unfortunately, not everyone has innate skills in leading people and enterprise to the peak. Thus, most of the leading companies nowadays highlight the need to train those who run the business to remain competitive.

While browsing for Corporate Training Program on the internet I found the site of Harrish Sairaman. He has impressive strategies to train employees using various activities like fire walking, glass walking, and rod bending. His training brought about a huge transformation in my employees. The employees of my corporation became more efficient and my output nearly doubled. If you are looking for something similar you can visit his website.

Business owners should not think about leadership development programs as being a cost but a good investment which is essential to the company’s success. Companies who invested in training their leaders, particularly their front-line supervisors report the following benefits:

Increased Efficiency – One of the primary reasons why managers fail to handle the workforce effectively is the lack of essential leadership abilities and characteristics. Leadership training creates a profound effect on the overall overall performance of supervisors by helping them create the skills required to encourage employees, solve conflicts and troubleshoot problem areas. The majority of managers struggle during the early years of their advertising and no first-time leader becomes ever competent enough until after substantial training, coaching, and experience.

Improved Recruiting – Today, people are searching for a workplace that encourages personal growth and development. For the majority of employees, training is equally important as their income. A powerful training program can hook all the correct people with the correct attitude. Skills improvement can come later.

Greater Retention – When workers feel that the business is actually willing to spend to help them improve their skills and knowledge, they are likely to work together with that company for a longer time.

Increased Productivity – Among the biggest challenges regarding businesses would be to improve employee productivity. Since the manner in which managers cope with the employees has an immediate effect on efficiency, organizations that have a competent leadership development program have been discovered to benefit from significant productivity increase by 25-200%. Moreover, hiring the correct individuals and having a lower turn over price of competent workers result in better output.
